"Coronavirus"- A Severe Tension For Bangladesh

Bangladesh - one of the poorest and densest countries in the world, is facing challenge to prevent COVID-19. Besides, to keep social distancing becomes a tough task for the authority. Though the first three known cases were reported on 7 March 2020 by the country's epidemiology institute IEDCR, according to the data table, on an average the country has found more than 820 new cases of COVID-19 daily from 1st May to 15th May 2020. On the other hand, the number of death is significantly increasing day by day. That’s why the experts already warned that it was just the “Tip Of The Iceberg” in view of the growing number of cases in the country.

In this circumstances, the spread of the infection could be contained using any and all means, broadening shutdowns and upholding physical distancing, the country will have to take identical decisions. From the beginning of the spreading Coronavirus, the Govt. announced that the people should voluntarily come forward for testing whenever someone feels the virus might have infected. And also stopped flight of Airlines, suspended on-arrival visas for foreign visitors, launched multiple screening tests, closed all the educational institutions, govt. & private offices, imposed restrictions on the movement of vehicles and extended its nationwide lockdown until May 30.

As there is no vaccination for this virus, the government is acting promptly to allocate further resources to healthcare infrastructure development to tackle this pandemic. The phenomenal Covid-19 pandemic has made disturbances worldwide exchange, business and education. Transportation, RMG and Banking institutions, which are the primary segments to endure, right now working their activities in limited timeframe, considering to support up the financial movement and to achieve the SDGs. In spite of the fact that the danger of Coronavirus increases, there is no scope for suspending these activities completely. That’s why the people are very much scared to be infacted and tension goes on with the daily new cases of COVID-19.
